Yahoo! Need to get with the cloaking IP delivery and redirect UK .com visitors to uk.com if they want to gain share in the UK. Also the UK Yahoo! Results are a mess at the minute, SEO Inc. are on the 1st page for SEO, at least the polish spammers are gone now.
The new little thumbshot thingies look rubbish if you are photo blogging, I have disabled them.
Great tool, Aaron is there anyway you can add uk.msn.com and uk.yahoo.com to the tool? I could give my clients ranking reports then. Some of them have asked for these, I usually tell them to get bent and say what would you rather me be doing working on your rankings, or checking on them? This tool could make it easy though.
When I am doing stuff for my clients a loose connection is good enough for me.
I just don't get this, you are allowed to submit your own stuff to most social bookmarking sites including digg, devaluing links to sites that constantly submit their own stuff would be one thing, but penalizing the websites of site owners that do it sounds extreme. I don't see it as being a major problem; non disclosed paid posts and paid links own the top money phrases on Google UK. Digg etc. doesn't even come into it. Digg are pretty swift in banning most e-commerce sites that get submitted anyway. Non e-commerce site or sites that sell advertising don't really care about Pagerank, they are in it for the traffic.

Story: Image Optimization 101
Good tips, I have found that the more links the blog post gets the higher the image will rank and getting your images ripped seems to do wonders, I have one client pulling huge amounts of image traffic because their photos have been published all over the place. Also there is no sandbox with Google images it's a great way for new sites to start pulling organic traffic fairly quickly.
Most of them are up for it, it's when they try and do it themselves that things go pete tong. Typical strategy invoves getting a .blogspot blog, writing incoherent sales pitches and addding links back to their site in every post.
@ClickFire those are the worst - 6-8 weeks to find out you have not got a cat in hells chance of your linkbait being publihed. God dam FSA.

Story: Why are good SEO’S all mad?
This post is scary - 8/10 for me, not left handed or over weight. I don't know if I am officially dislexic, but i sure as hell make a lot of typos on IM. I have been obsessive all of my life, addictive personality my dad says. Finishing tasks - I started work on my very basic new website last October, still not finished. I did O.K. in school 5 c's at GCSE, but I am defnitely an under achiever, I dropped out of college after less then 5 months because I had coursework due. I had over 20 different jobs before I settled down as an SEO, I was sacked from serveral. It is 6.15 am here in the UK, I have been up since 3. I like my vodka. Odd - yep. My diet consists mainly of meat and potatoe pie, sausage, bacon and egg and pizza.
I am guessing that figure will increase now that they have 301'd the the www. URLs (thanks to me). My profile has now taken the no.1 spot for UKDave.
There is no justice in this world and currently it is nearly impossible to beat the ones who disregard the rules with white hat. On page factors are irrelevant.
Submissions that do get promoted are now seeing a lot more tafffic as a result of this. I think they put things back to the way they were a few weeks ago and now they have gone back to not promoting as many. I am certainly finding it a lot more difficult to get stuff on the frontpage, but I have been since christmas.
Grey should be speaking, I would rather listen to him and I would take his advice over any of the guest speakers I see on the website. Also a lot of the poeple who are on the website work for companies who are probably sponsoring the event in other ways. Undisclosed payola?

People spam my directory all of the time trying to submit Google groups thread with blatent adverts on them.
If you can't get a submission on the frontpage of sphinn you have problems.
