While I don't buy shirt argument at all, I think this is a clever article and very well done.
Enjoyed meeting you at the show...unfortunately, I didn't get to imbibe a beverage with you...maybe next time :.)
Matt's pyramid is on his original post...you can access it via the link at the top of my post.
SEO is about making sales / generating leads, not about getting rankings. Higher rankings are only one component of successful SEO...there are quite a few others.
Sure, but any good techniques that get given out would be shut down relatively quickly.
Marketposition, if Doug H is bashing it, it's probably a good thing :.)
We all use tools at some level to help do our work. However, a tool can't substitute for good process & methodology...tools can only give us more information, if utilized properly, can enhance the end result.
While Chris is certainly one of the most visible people in our industry, anybody who puts the time and effort into Twitter can develop visibility and a large enough network to tap into effectively. It's isn't the size of the network that matters...it's the quality of it.
Excellent story!
Tim, I believe Matt made this point 1+ years ago on his blog (though I'm not up to chasing down the reference).
What Ciaran said. SEG has this functionality and I believe it adds to the story value.
Don't agree with the article but it was definitely well done and worthy of a Sphinn.
Kevin, do you not get Neil's analogies? I guess you don't watch enough porn. (...hides behind concrete barrier awaiting Kevin's response...) :.)
A couple people told me they can't click through to the link, so I posted the story here as well: http://www.toddmintz.com/keywordresearchutilization.htm
Short forms are like short skirts...both leave a much more positive, inviting impression :.)
Story: SEO/SEM Job Market Growing?
There's a rule of thumb stating that only 10-15% of all job openings are publically advertised. Lots of firms / companies are looking but aren't necessarily advertising for positions. Also, a lot of people I've talked to are looking for talent and would hire any good people that come available...but they can't find anyone.
The market is molten hot and will likely get hotter.
Story: Life, Death, and Links
While I agree with everything Eric said, it is the up to the web searcher to do a thorough enough job of research to be comfortable that the information found is indeed accurate. If a web searcher is "fooled" once and takes a bogus site at face value without cross-referencing information multiple times at multiple "authoritative" sites, they share the blame for following bogus information.
