Great article, for me the economy going down the toilet has done nothing but help my business grow since everyone is pulling out of traditional advertising and going to the web.

Chris thanks for the write up, stoked to Seeo Tribe Called Quest on SEL.
Anyone with suggestions on how to make this a better analytics tool please send them our way.
Glen,
Hit me up when you get a chance we are working on this all the time. We had it set so if you got logged out of your stats it defaulted to BLVD's stats demo and there were occasions where when you scrolled over a referrer it would show a refferer from another site, but never where you can see anyone elses full stats as far as we know. If there is anything please let us know cause all stats are private.
Thanks man,
CB
It must of gotten blocked send them to chris @ blvdstatus.com from now on. Thanks man.
Invisible Blogger,
Email me your username and your domain and we can take care of it.
Onereact,
Doesn't show incoming traffic to your site? Or on our demo showing traffic from Sphinn. If it is your site and you are still experiancing problems email me at chris@blvdstatus.com.
Neyne,
It should actually load everything within minutes we have it set up so you shouldn't have to wait that long, if anyone gets decent traffic to their site and is not seeing full data within 20 mins email me at above adress with your URL.
Patrick,

PotPieGirl,
Sorry about the comments I don't know what happened. They seem to be working. Would love to hear your feedback.
Chris
It depends on the site/case. If you are a large company and you used to use sub domains to dominate your name, IE Google, eBay all that, you may want to look your other domains to plan for the future when sub domains start to be treated like folders.
Also in cases where you have stubborn pages that you don't want ranking in the top ten you may have to pull out the exact domains as they are sure fire ways to get rid of really stubborn negative pages.
Look at the search result for 97th Floor in google, way back when before I new what would happen with my company I forgot to buy all the .net's all that, only like 3 months after starting my company, when I went to buy them all .net was taken by a girl that was starting a home made clothing line with the same name. It has no seo and it is number 2. Im buying the domain now, but I am not going to 301 it. I will put up a simple place holder that links to our blog, our tools all of that and keep it in the number 2 spot. I haven't flooded the results with my .org's and all that cause I don't have good use for them personally, but it can be smart for some companies.
You can use one of the domains for a place to talk about chairties or other outside work that you do. Or about other branches of your company. Mat was suggesting it cause we have done rep management for very large companies with undesirable pr 5's and 6's ranking in the top 5 for their name, and most of the time the exact domain is the best way to clean it up asap.
Story: Case Study On Blog Promotion
Hey guys,
I posted at the top of the post, Sorry, but my client wouldn't let me release the info, I want to share it anyways.
I put in the post I hate case studies without sites as well. And I have two sites both of which have said I could use their info that I am working on sharing.
Nothing makes me more mad then sites talking it up but never showing anything backing it up, that is why I prefaced the article saying the same.
Thanks for trusting us, we had no idea that the info could be tweaked for evil use. Everything is perfect and I have already had two emails of people that have hit the digg homepage for the first time, thanks to the tool.
Everyone, this is not the case, we are not gathering data. I emailed Pierre and gave him full access to our data base that was created to track errors. We will be making any necessary changes and or be removing it all together based off what we see. And I will be releasing a new update through FF for everyone.
We are being more than proactive to fix this. We wanted this tool to help the seo community like it has helped us. 97th Floor is my life and there is no way I would risk my reputation upon a FF extension.
Exactly Michael it is already ready and we have posted it on our blog,
http://www.97thfloor.com/blog/first-update-to-social-media-for-firefox-extension-we-are-not-spying-on-you/
We use an api for Del.icio.us so sometimes it doesn't respond. Try refreshing or just waiting
I have tested over and over, too many links too quickly and it has never hurt a site of mine. Most webmasters blame that as a penalty, when usually it is too much exact anchor text. Viral links are also a better way to build a unique profile as any competitor can go get in the same directories and TLA's as you, but they can't get the same story popular on social sites after you have. Thus giving you a totally unique link profile, and natural anchor text.
iBrian,
I have seen sites both personally and from friends go from a brand new domain, to thousands upon thousands of links from seo/smo and ranking for words that people dream of in less than 4 months. Social Media if anything only shortens the effects of any Trust time delays on Googles part. I'm not talking about words like Seattle Jazercise, Im talking words like Work at Home, and Home Based Business, Dating, etc.. I'm talking about words with billions of pages indexed.
You don't have to sacrifice relevance in order to participate in powerful social media campaigns. You can keep your link profiles fairly on target if you do it right.
