Yup, I have been thinking about making the switch from Text Link Ads to either none at all (paid links are a small fraction of my earnings) or "underground" links that only the advertiser and I know were paid for (i.e. a link in the content of a blog post that happens to be related to the merchant's site). The downside is this always feels a little dishonest (readers don't have any way to decipher what's a paid link or not). Oh well, this article gives food for thought on the subject.
This is what I call an organized brain dump (much better than the unorganized brain dumps I myself do). Now, when is the webinar going to launch that goes through everything? :)
Some good common sense tips that--for a surpisingly high number of people--don't click.
Yes, I've definitely noticed that after you get that first initial burst of traffic from being discovered, SU referrels go way down even if future pages on your site are stumbled. 15 minutes a day and using the program to find new things to read and interesting people is probably worth more than trying to game it as an SEO.
Thank you for reaffirming what I knew to be true about Sphinn. I'm so glad we don't have to actually read people's articles. What a time sink! :P
Some good stuff to think about here. I've built enough sites that they make a good living for me, but I really wish I'd thought about the "branding" idea when I first got started. Oh, and social networking. :) Darned introvert tendencies.
