"not every SEO has the entrepreneurial spirit to run their own thing" this is very true... and I have found most "seos" are great talkers and not great "doers"
If you set up an ecommerce site right you dont have to do anything, everything is outsourced.. so you can technically run 30 -40 sites with ease..
The more seos that opt out the better , it leaves more niches open for the ones who have spirit "to do"
Its also not true you need a "unique product" either you can simply sell someone elses ..
I have worked with these people before !!! and all I can say is that they are the real deal !
You guys must be really finding it hard work at $3.00 per gallon , try living here in the UK its $13 per gallon at the moment.
Story: Is Desphinning rude?
Why is every one else so concerned about other peoples business, I mean common ? " I, for one, would be interested in knowing at what point they asked and you told. Presumably, before it went live on their website? " whys that ? why would you be so interested... I hardly think he would have said.. oh and BTW that link bait that I sold you last week was fake , so come and sue me ? I have clients that have worked with Lyndoman and they only speak very highly of his business practises..
I think the real successes are when people take a company that doesnt have an authoritative domain and doesnt have a super extreme "fake" story about kids, sex, and crime, and get the same result...
@ Brent so I take it all your bait is a winner winner chicken dinner ? as I know that I hire top writers and top people that write good stuff and even they fail ! not every bait is gona win every time no matter what you do ...
@ Harith..
The crusial question is; have you informed the client of the risk that they might get penalized by Google for publishing a fake story for the sole purpose of gaming Google system?
In this case their was no need to inform the client as he is a well know SEO over here.. a major affilate player.. he knew the score...
@Brent
Your surley not saying that absoultley everything you put out as bait suceeds ? Thats got to impossible ? But I do suppose it depends on how you would measure the success .. just out of curiousity how many links would you say is a successful bait ? Then at least I know if we are singing from the same hymm book..
Desphunn..I am sorry , but if you wanted to donate money to a charity you could have done a completely seperate post on your blog... This is just an attempt to launch your new PPC tools and try and piggy back it onto some kind of disguised charity event .. sorry but I dont think its right.
Hi Will
Iam not offended, and I realise that you were very forth coming at the start of your post about your intentions ... but they are exactly that ... "lets launch our new tools and try and get a charity thing on board to disguise it" Or thats how it looks from this angle...
As lets face "my blog launches new tools" wouldnt exactly have gone hot on here... I dont know maybe I am wrong...
I just think a better way would have been " Internet marketers and SEO,s to help Burma victims"
rather than doing the two together... and for that reason I am against it and not taking part..
However let me know where I can make a straight donation and I will be happy to do so.
funny .. I have just read your newsletter Jill , giving lyndon even more publicty , classic..
If money.co.uk was my site I would have milked this to death and tried to put more and more spin on it gaining more and more publicty ... lets face it the only people who actually know this whole thing was fake are very savvy internet users and marketers... so no real damage has been done to moneys site cred, from the actual end users point of view.. Caburys had a massive recall of their chocolate a while ago due to a "life threatening" super bug !! but yes people still trust their brand any buy the chocolate buy the truck load....
money simply didnt act quick enough to spin it cleverly to their advantage....
And as for them sacking thier marketer , well if thats true I look forward to seeing the next marketer get 10,000 links and that kind of publicty for a grand !
what a load of tosh ... Cutts says somthing just to scare the seo - marketing community and you suckers belive him ... how can you police that ? does that now mean the BBC are in for it after releasing that april fool pengiun bait ? I doubt it !
Story: Linkbait at any Cost?
I have been trying for days to get hold of Lyndon .. But unfortunatly his phone has been ringing off the hook with job offers !!! (fully booked) I am with Kimber on this ... this whole thing makes me smile everytime I read another post about it saying how successful it was as this makes his phone, IM and email go even hotter with job offers...
In some of these posts I detect a sence of jealously maybe I am wrong ? Damaged reputations ? anyone remember the kids shouting from the well that werent actually in the well? We now dont hate all childeren.. Nigerian email scams .. what ? If your stupid enough to to get scammed then thats your luck out ... what a total over reaction by some ... I would much rather give a link to somthing made up that I found funny than the "best ten japanses vending machines ever".. Some of you just need to calm down.. it was just a great piece of marketing.. BTW do you know that Cadburys never actually got a gorilla to play the drums ?
1. hired to bait
2. wrote article
3. Huge wopping sucess
4. clients happy
whats the problem ?
Oh sorry missed out some online marketers are jealous , sorry I meant unhappy that no one pointed out it was fake...
I will watch out for all the disclaimers telling the world "caution this is link bait " the next time you launch your bait ... that is if your skilled enough to do it..
now wheres that whiskey :)
"i Loved the debating team" yep we can see that.... :) this comment reads like a summing up of a trial case ? it was only a peice of succesful link bait , no one ended up with an axe in their head... I honestly do think that a few people commenting are worried that the bar has been raised and some will just simply not be able to reach that level ( or anywhere close to it ) . Honestly no animals were hurt in the making of this seriously succesful link bait..
@ Tom
I personally think this page is of value ... ok so the bottom bit advertises his services ? so what ? Ok so its not the best written article I have ever read but it is a deep subject that is hard to explain.. Advanced maths probibilty ... How do you get your head around that..? I think they are trying to explain that if you use maths instead of guess work then your PPC account will take a turn for the better.. When I personally read the page I didnt think they were trying to educate me on how to apply the math.. I think they were just saying you should be and heres why ...
You actually say in your comment above that it is a sales page then drop this line in follow our blog ... Giving yourself a bit of self promo
What kinda algo or statistics is your tool going to use to tell you when to update your ads
Hey ciaran.. I never mentioned the link :) I was just pointing out the irony of "sales page" then the "follow my blog " :)
