I have just returned from my native England and all the comments are spot on.
One example when England are playing Football (it's not called soocer ;) ) the Scots will not hope we win - BUT when Scotland are playing we want them to win which is really weird - Some say this island race which is very true.
I almost set up a small agency in the West of England when I was over there but found it difficult going explaining what I do - odd as the original computer was built in England and Tim Benners Lee founded the www....
Search for my small SEO biz is having a record month this month.....
I'm wondering how it's going to pan out for us small SEO companies........
I'm a Mom and Pop outfit (since 97) and am looking at a record year if this keeps up
So for this litte corner of search things are looking quite good at the moment.....

As soon as I hit dry land it's out with my wireless laptop......
My Missus and I are going camping this year around the Carolina lakes - we've booked only sites with electric hook ups - I told her it was so we could watch a Movie at night in our tent......

I like using Google Apps, there are somethings I'd like to see introduced but am happy.
I love Google Checkout way over PP and will continue using it when they start charging.
I do wish I could morph my gmail and apps together easily though.
I don't mind Google knowing whatever about me hopefully they'll see I'm poor but giving them what I can ;) Then they'll give me higher rankings because they feel sorry for me or a janitor job in nearby Lenoir HEY! the janitor's a Limey guys!
Then also they will let me do the feet on the street Google Local thing ....

Great article Jill - this is why I don't work for dim witted "SEO Companies" that are really Web Designers ripping their customers off -
I've been doing search for a decade now - I morphed from design into SEO (or whatever it was called then) and have met some really nut jobs burning Mr and Mrs Innocent.
