Story: Twitter Backlink Tip
There are two people in the SEO world that I will stop anything that I am doing to pay attention to.
I) Eric Ward
II) Eric Enge
I ran a few tests with the tool and I didn't find the numbers to be very accurate ... that's it.
Personally?
I hardly ever use sub domains ... but after reviewing Matt Cutts article ... I might in some cases ... I was under the (possibly inaccurate) impression that subdomains were discounted for page rank due to past subdomain abuses ...
A)
It works really well to manage the link juice for a site.
B)
There are no negative effects if done correctly
C)
The Point?

IMHO >>
I am not relying on the future of "SEO" ...
Internet marketing as a whole will eventually be dominated by the media moguls in the same fashion that print and video media have been ...
The opportunities for small to mid sized firms will always be there ... at least at a superficial level, but the profit margins will also narrow to the point where few will be interested in pursuing it any longer ...
IMHO ...
Florida SEO
There is a dichotomy ...
Before one can make an honest appraisal of the related value of either ... the marketing formula has to be considered ... The four "P's" of marketing ...
The four p's; Product, Price, Place, and Promotion, can apply to any vertical, whether it be law, education, real estate, SEO, or even sex ...
That being said ... there will be some marketing mixes that will perform better for "professional" type content such as white papers and research, etc., such as in the service based industries; law, and Information Technology.
However, the consumer product market, realizes a tremendous amount of impact from U.G.C., and Social Media ...
More than ever, businesses have to be on guard about the quality of their products ... a few bad comments ... could quite literally, pull the curtains.
So for the consumer product markets ... comments probably are king ...
That test does not generate an accurate portrayal of the abilities and qualifications of an experienced SEO. I worked for THE TOP company in search engine optimization for the legal industry in the world. I was a manager of the SEO division over 34 national web sites that generate 2.5 million in client revenues per year.
A Boca Raton Florida SEO company tried to recruit me while I was working for my past employer ... when I arrived, they asked me what my qualifications were ... that was interesting.
I was then asked to take the SEOMoz quiz ... okay ... sure ... so I did. I did fairly well, but to be totally honest here? There were questions about SEO in freaking Japan and China ... I don't think many American SEO's are familiar with ... Japanese marketing ... Don't get me wrong ... I think Rand's advice is excellent but that test .... it sucked.
