Something I think I knew already but just never thought of. What I usually do is just take out Ajax all together, but I guess it is nice to keep it in so you also gain the Ajax fans on your site. I like the example at the end, www.ajaxoptimize.com nice and neat. Very clean. Looks like it used both Ajax and Mr. Clean. haha
