This is amazing.
So, Google has a problem with only one newspaper in the entire world?
Am I hearing that robots.txt, html, .htaccess, google web master tools are all innefective when not used?
Can anyone else repeat/recreate the problem?  Maybe there is a secret server setting in FL.
I am sorry that their stock went down unneccesarily. Have a coffee with your banker. He's feeling the same way.
And of course I could be all wrong about all of this. If I am, I blame Google.

@Patrick, I have seen you around the web space. Now I will be looking out for you. Nice work in doing more to surface what happened, rather than simply adding another well meaning opinion here.  Do you know which CMS they have been using?  Might they be in the market for a new one? hehe

An SEO firm could charge one rate for the high priced talent and intellectual property and another rate for the staff that will implement the tactics.  This may prevent the client from feeling that they need to employ two firms to get the best value and allow you to keep the customer and have the oversite to see that the work is completed in the time and of the quality specified.

The fact that it took 7 seconds to load that page at Computerworld and then saturated the CPU is pretty offputing.  I like LinkedIn better and see that they are not standing still in terms of new features.  They also may be focused on two slightly different demographics, which for some folks determines a clear winner.

Very practical approach.  The info is out there.  Thanks.   Another reminder that for me it is time to stop swimming with the same fish and find another pond with fish of another stripe.

@mvolpe Thanks for the needed correction and your kind words.  I will look forward to seeing the future changes on your blog, which will hopefully inspire me to fix up my blog some more too.

I like the break down of simple daily tasks which make it seem manageble.  Investing in social communities does require time and effort and the discipline that consistency brings is a huge advantage.  Thanks for laying out a successful game plan.

Another great approach to speaking to your potential customers and thier needs.  Great reminder to think harder for what they are searching for to find you.

Move away from your product name and into the words that describe the problem you solve.  I really appreciate this article and will be applying it.
