There are no ethics in seo, only what works and what does not work.

Nnnnngg, I hate the Daily Mail and I hate having to see it on digg all the time. When is the Independant going to get their act together.

Some of us have to go to digg, it's a work thing.

I love writing to a British audience and confusing the Americans.

John, how do you "fix breakfast", you mean it's broken?

My favourite of course is when an American is in London and they ask for the rest room and offered a bed. Where does that come from anyway, "restroom", ok so it's relaxing, but restful? Not so sure, perhaps, relaxation room would be more appropriate.

This is true and is a test of your British supermarket knowledge, I would have used Kwik Save but I think they have gone down the tubes. Netto is the next choice, although that's the only place where you have to shopift to get served.

Adli is another foreign one, Co-op could have beent too..., ach, I should have chosen Somerfield.

My error.

I don't get Asda, it's like a Chav convention.

It's better than chatting about seo ethics and pretending we know what we are talking about ;)

Personally I would prefer Waitrose, and if in the US, it would be Trader Joes

But we don't have a Waitrose down in Cornwall, and they do a great Thai Chicken soup. So we have to slum it and do Sainsbury's

But has the Dark chocolate digestive finally been destroyed by the hobnob. Will the bourbon ever regain it's throne?

And what happend to the custard cream?

How many of these types do we see on Sphinn every day. I always feel like the noob, never feel I can learn enough. Confess your type!

If you had included the Alexa data
http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details/sphinn.com?q=

It would be a more interesting story. Personally I don't trust either data and should be labeled "For Entertainment Purposes Only"

It would be cool to see the real stats on sphinn though,

Does anyone trust compete's data?

He always has a point ;)

And this is not to say you should think "you" can get success overnight. But I think it's a great conversation starter, whether it's right or wrong is less important than if it makes you think about it. Most people do take a long time to "make it".

Interesting look at a problem in blackhat seo. We need more blackhat posts on Sphinn, if it works, we need to hear about it ;)

Yet again linkbait gets misunderstood. Is it because people are face achingly stupid or just don't do their research.

"Disturbance" according to Mr Roget; distraction, interference, bother, trouble, inconvenience, upset, annoyance, irritation, intrusion.

Oh yeah, there is a lot of that going on, which is mostly why I don't hang out in Sphinn much and spending less time looking at RSS reader at low rent, feeble minded seo blogging. I really should clear it out.

I'm reading Steve Krug's "Don't make me Think", about web usability, and I feel a lot of bloggers have taken that phrase and applied it to blogging.

My take on blogging is, "Make People Think". Even if they disagree with you.

I'm saving further comments for a blog post ;)

Unless of course you are marketing your content to the beginner segment rather than the cranky-old-skool-been-there-done-that-lets-have-a-laugh-at-noobs market.

If you don't like the story, then consider the story wasn't meant for you.

You should be using your RSS reader to find the advanced stuff, not Sphinn.

Why shouldn't people be allowed to read about, "How to pick a domain name." I'm all for helping out people fresh to the seo and internet marketing seen. I was new once and knew squat, I know how it feels to struggle through the arcane language of the seo world.

If it helps people, then it should be on the front page, it wont help me, but  that's not what I use Sphinn for.

A misleading headline! What, here on Sphinn?

If it wasn't for slags I would have never...... OK, myabe I shouldn't go there. I wonder if the mods would mind if I dropped a link to a certain two ladies in Viz, better not.

"The day seo ate itself"

"Oh...to work for a company with the balls to turn a job down!  :)  IF ONLY..."

I have to turn work away constantly. It would be wrong to take work on and produce sub-standard stuff because you don't have the time. I could always outsource, but just can't get the quality I want.

No, Matt Cutts did not have me in a head lock when I wrote this. Linkbait + natural content rocks the house.

@brent, You absolutely do not know what you are talking about, the client was informed, for frigs sake they were hiring a linkbaiter not a journalist. Why is it people always spout off opinions when they don't know the full story.

I was asked if it were true, and I told my client no, what more evidence do you want?

As for the success of the piece and my own skills, I leave that to others to judge.

Your welcome Jill. I don't think I know of anyone who would put such whacky material on their website and not question if it's fact or fiction, so it puzzles me that people think I had somehow misled the client or even needed to. I guess people have their reasons.
