I'm always a fan of matrix content, this describes social media in a nut shell.
I agree, defintely worth a sphinn!! Very technical, excellent advice and tips certainly an eye opener
I recently got one of my clients to revamp their 404 page, looks a lot better and user friendly!
That's quite a list of resources. I for one always believe in improving conversions not just driving traffic, and this list will help me for sure!!
Thanks!
Story: Yelp SEO Analysis: Part One
Thanks andrewsho, some really good observations you've made, looking forward to your analysis of the Category Landing Page, Category Search Results Page and Member Profile Pages.
One thing I did notice with your observation is the use of no-follow. I for one advocate the use of no-follow all because of channelling PageRank (Google Juice) to the important pages, this is something which interests and read about this somewhere else.
Good stuff!!
Good post from ViperChill. I like the way you have also implented some testing as well, to prove this actually works.
Using directories as a sole link development activity will get you nowhere, but I didn't think of using directories if you have a authority site to work with to get those all important keyword anchor text.
There are many articles out there similar to this one, but I do like the way Lyndon has tackled this, a good article all round. I also like the way he has leveraged Google Alerts as a way of testing the water.
I admit I have implemented this way of driving traffic in the past, and with some success, mind you depends on the quality of content and also the way you have constructed the title and also the industry you are working, as this may have a temporal affect on search engine rankings.
I even stumbled the article also, so hopefully this will drive additional traffic.
Another great article from Small Business SEM, I do like what Matt writes!!
An interesting take in how to create buzz and to leverage something which is a hot topic - the environment!! If you go about this the right way this will create traffic and natural inbound links, and also using your skillz offline in the process!!
Blue sky ideas all the way!!
Wow!!
An interesting take from Neil of how to win clients. The comment below:
"instead I send them an email which outlines how they don’t know how to do their job". Talk about straight to the point!! In this case the recipient will certainly hit delete button for sure.
If it works for you Neil, then fair play.
I couldn't agree more with the previous comments. I had trouble working with a site which had implemented a CMS system which churned out uncessary code, page download was slow also, a nightmare!!
One thing for certain when you choose a CMS, if there was such a system which takes SEO into equation then dupe content and code bloat is something which needs to be addressed.
This is worth a sphinn in my opinion.
Some of the points make a lot of sense, but I do like the Top Commentators plugin, a very good idea!!
I wish him well with the blogging experiment, judging by the number of comments in all his posts he's certainly improving his kudos.
I really enjoyed reading this blog post. Good spot Adam, in fact another blog I should subscribe to!!
I didn't know there are 5 types of link you can leverage. A really good insight on how to combine action based linking and also for SEO.
I admit I tend to go down the SEO route and boost the internal linking popularity, but after reading the article, I'll probably adopt a different kind of strategy.
Good stuff!!
That is a top draw article.
Everything you need to know about leveraging Stumbleupon!! I even stumbled it meself!!
I certainly use Yahoo Answers as part of the clients online marketing strategy. It depends what product you are promoting, however its the quality of the answer which gives:
1. The best answer
2. Improve kudos
I regular check web analytics for traffic analysis and it does generate qualified traffic, not a shed load mind you but its free targeted traffic, and also helps to improve brand awareness and repeat visits.
Good list here.
These kinds of social news sites are on the up. I think the more niche they are, then the site becomes a success. That reminds me I have an idea meself!!
Hey Patrick,
I for one have subscribed to the RSS feed (use Feedreader for my rss pickups). I do like the quality of content you regular post, you are one of a elite few I subscribe to, keep up the good work!!
Good article, well presented, there are methods which I already knew, but always nice to see a post on something like this.
I agree with the link bait, sites like SEOMoz and Aaron Wall do well with this sort of strategy because they are targeting an existing online SEO community who love to read these blogs and also they are good for self-development. Just look at the SEO quiz, created so much buzz!!
Just made it as SEO Professional :-)
Overall I thought the SEO quiz was a good test for those who practice SEO. I agree with readers here, I had to think twice about some of the questions, but the overall look and feel and usability especially with the status bar is a good indication of how well you are doing.
Thumbs up to SEOMoz!!
