I actually think it's good to throw a douchebag into the mix, every now and then. It sparks some interesting conversation and fuels fresh thoughts...
If I just add my picture to all my sites, that should be sxy enough... no?
Even though I agree that Eric may come across as "arrogant" in his presentations and writings... and the fact that he never called me back about a year-and-a-half ago after I left a few messages during my in-house stint with a huge company, even after speaking to him briefly in person at a conference in regards to my interest in hiring him...
I'm still a fan. I'm interested in his point of view.
Story: Rev Up "About Us" Pages
On the other hand, in order to be truly effective, I believe SEOs should have a certain level of knowledge in web design and development, as well.
Right after I submitted this, my first instinct was to ask a few others to Sphinn it, as well... LOL :P
Point well taken. I hope it grows legs...
Story: Please Don't Ask Me to Sphinn Your Stories (and How to Use Sphinn and Similar Social News Websites)
I admit I asked for Sphinns on two of my posts to test out the site. Though I do feel like they were front page material, I got what I needed to and no longer feel a need to solicit Sphinns the way I did before.
I'll be asking you only for Diggs from now on. :)
Google just wrote about a few sweet maps, too:

Another thing to keep in mind is that these "whiz-bang Web 2.0 interactive elements" are not only search-engine-unfriendly, but they may also be unfriendly to visually impaired users.
I wrote on this a few days ago: http://www.seodisco.com/2007/10/14/law-may-require-websites-to-be-accessible-to-disabled-users/
Good to know... but I think it would be nicer to have a "Report as Spam" option directly from the post, even if it simply links to the contact form.
Great post! With all the data Google is (and has been) collecting, it would be stupid not to assume that they will be using the data in some form to feed us their organic results... They already doing it in some form with AdWords and Personalized Search...
