Twitterers don't function that way. I know no one likes to be painted with a broad paintbrush but that doesn't mean they can't be. Twitter is popular, in part, because you can scan short tweets to see what's up... so no one cares if your tweet is auto-fed because it's short. If they didn't like you in the first place they probably wouldn't have added you... and if they don't like your content, then they'll just unfollow you regardless of whether your tweets are autofed or not.

Its the liberal vs conservative paradigm... myspace is full of kids... or unfulfilled adults who are just like kids... and then there are the marketers who "love" them. Seriously... if you know how to market... and I'm not talking about porn and setting up accounts with hot girl pics... then myspace is chock full of people who all have WANTS AND NEEDS.
It's fish in a barrel folks... and James is right... the less mature use it for an outlet... but the more mature can use it to make a living if they know what to do.
Here, for those who are still wondering if Twitter can be fun or helpful, here's the first article I ever wrote on it...
A Quick Jaunt Into Data Mining on Twitter
At the end, there's the label for all my Twitter Articles, including, "Further Exploitation Via Data Mining on Twitter", etc...
Twitter, like anything else, has uses that were never envisioned by it's creators.
I won't give it all out praise but I will say that it's a damn good start... I'd like to see you follow-up with part 2 of the 1-2 combination. Here's a little related for your continued enjoyment: Controversy at the Semmys - A Scene Out of Deliverance
@graywolf - I noticed you found conflict with Google's use of the term "immoral" where they consider link buying to be immoral yet they allow adultery ads which you consider immoral. I think the difference is in the fact that their "immoral" is relating only to what matters in the search world - not what matters to evangelicals.
I see you've called for a truce but did you have any hand in egging them on by writing posts that refer to them as stumble trolls, or whatever else? Sometimes a staid, seemingly objective article masks a passive-aggressive return volley... either way, good wishes in bringing about a resolution.
Nice little kick in the asz to y'all... but I do admire the fact that he says, "not dissin anyone, but..." which gets him off the hook, lol.
That's not a rant; that's PMS... the difference is subtle, but it exists.
It's not a lot, but still quite promising, to know that 7 other people, so far, do not take themselves too seriously - satire is satire - so thanks for the sphinn my FRIENDS.
Story: Introducing: The SEMMYS
Sorry, I won't be participating in the main contest this time, but here is my answer to the Semmys - THE SAMMYS!
Ahh, good, thanks for the update. Until then, please, enjoy THE SAMMYS!
LOL, anyone who bets against the Pats is just doing it for the thrill of the longshot. Well, there's no way I can even be controversial about this - the Pats are the best of all times right now. And by the way, put yer Entrecard credits where your mouth is: The First Ever Entrecard Football Squares Contest
well, I keep forgetting that tech geeks have a different sense of humor than bodybuilders. My name is already established. It was just a playful invitation without expecting you to actually take advantage of it.
But, for what it's worth, controversy doesn't always start as a big smackdown - it can start as light disagreement and then build.
@aglobal - yes, really. ;-)
@ibrian - can you tell us what you did so we can decide whether you are a dick or not?
@gypsy - it's nice to be understood. ;-) I was just pullin' his leg and, to his credit, he didn't take it offensively.
@gamermk - thanks, got it. it was tongue-in-cheek humor.
Agree with Mark, but disagree with avoiding controversy and no self-promotion because it speaks to mediocrity. If done properly, people don't care... they are hungry and have wants and as long as your information is good and you can defend your ideas and facts then controversy and self-promotion can work just fine. Although I don't agree with attacking people directly - one can be controversial simply by emphatically questioning or doubting an authoritarian's suggestions.
(go ahead, try it right now with what I just wrote!)
@tinu - proven to work for people in TODAY'S world. A lot of the A-list bloggers, for example, are considered experts but they're giving out information that was good 2-3 years ago when the blogosphere wasn't as choked with today's 170k new blogs per day.
