If you guys have any problems with it can you let us know either via the contact form or commenting on the actual post itself.

It does need javascript enabled, and the post pops up in a new window when you click on create a new post - often people don't realise that and find the window when they go to shut everything down. I will be adding a note to the page to mention those two things.

Thanks for the feedback. :)

As I said we did test it across a large number of browsers but there are so many of them these days and most people tend to use firefox, flock, safari and IE (thankfully less and less of those!) so we tested it pretty comprehensively in those browsers.

Looks like there is an issue with Internet Explorer. Oh, what a surprise :( Death to Internet Explorer!

We're trying to fix it, in the meantime all I can say is firefox, flock, opera. :)

Seems the Internet Explorer issue may be fixed. ;) If anyone else has troubles with the generator let us know so we can fix it.

I completely agree with you, Graywolf. Unfortunately I think Wordpress have stopped listening to the people who are using their product - they're not hearing us anymore. ;(

Google is potentially in legal trouble regarding these paid links and reducing some peoples page rank and not others who are selling links. Google are already being sued by the ACCC regarding the sponsored links that appear at the top of their search. The ACCC is also investigating this situation and they have spoken to a number of bloggers about it. If you are in Australia and you have been affected it is worth giving the ACCC a call.

Matt Cutts said - "rockybalboa, I pretty much write about what interests me. I'm lucky that what interests me is also my job. When I look at paid posts for colon cleansing, car loans, or "save money on insurance" or "samsung 46 inch lcd," I do see a difference."

And that, right there, is exactly why you are wrong on the paid posts issue.

There may be some bloggers out there who write blog posts on any topic just to earn the cash. Then there's people like me, who DISCRIMINATE and choose carefully what paid posts we will consider doing because it is something that interests us, or it will interest our readers.

The problem originated because you created page rank. The easy solution is to remove that green bar and those numbers. Why are you choosing to do it this way and alienate so many people and put Google in such a precarious legal position?

That's ok - you don't have to agree. We are all entitled to our own opinion.

The current situation raises questions about our online world and who we want to be in control of it. Do we want a company of 13,000+ employees deciding who can be found online and who can't, for whatever reasons of their own - or do we want a real search engine which accurately displays the state of the web for better or worse?

Igor - I disagree - we can stop using it and my article tells you how. ;)

I've already stopped using it myself - it's been almost 24 hours and I'm still breathing, I didn't die of Google Withdrawl.

Seriously, I've given some other options you can use there in that post rather than Google, give those a try.

Well Google can feel free to robot my site - what I am saying is I don't intend to use any of their sites anymore. I won't visit them. I won't give them traffic.

Why should I deny people the opportunity to find me just because they don't know not to use Google yet?

Perhaps when they get to my site, they will read say goodbye to google, and find themselves a new search engine. As we all should.

I just remembered that Google own you tube, so I'll be embedding videos from now on - that way they don't get a traffic hit.
