I have a couple of notes on why this doesn't do it for me.
A) That's a triangle. So is Matt McGee's. I've pointed this out to him, but his at least has individual building blocks that form said triangle. I'm sure they'd look three dimensional in real life so I let it slide. This has no building blocks. It is a triangle
B) The meat of the triangle consists of three words...while I get the idea that the discussion afterwards matters more than the visual, I think that it's a bit hasty to throw up a triangle and put 3 words in the middle.
On the other hand, I do like how the triangle explains the give and take of our industy to beginners and those not affiliated with SEM.
Papa John's is lucky the tables weren't turned...I can't imagine the resulting chaos had Arenas been called a "crybaby."

Story: 7 Things Twitter Can’t Do
Times like these where I wish we had an option to unsphinn or undesphinn. Not that I would change my opinion, but maybe others would like to.
Awesome! Great post 'Hack, also thanks for betting me that it wouldn't crack 12! Looks like you owe me a drink
@BogglesMyMind - exactly what types of industries are you comparing SEO to? Certainly there are industries that warrant the existence of standards, but in an industry that is tied to the whims of search engines, algorithms, user content, infinite competition and ever evolving technology/code can standards really be put into place. We’re not mechanics & electricians here, we are, at the base of this, advertisers on a media which is not governed (at least not very much, thank God) by any body. It’s not as though the FCC is going to clamp on us like they would television advertisers. So why develop a set of standards for this industry?
I'm wondering just what mental time warp this article came from? The idea that these two things could being remotely comparable is beyond belief. Frankly I feel dumber for having read HALF of this article.
ORLY? I did not receive said spam. If that's true, then it's rather sad to hear as it takes away quite a bit of credibility from this post.
Kimota and Oggy have good points; but on the other hand, so does cre8pc. Receiving an email out of the blue is a bit odd. I'm standing by my sphinn of this post, because I still do think it's a revelant critique of the community and something that all of us should remember while we're out there sphinning content.
Ok Ruud, fair enough.
Maybe saying that it's a fair critique was a bit too broad. What I should say is that the critique being made about the insurgance of "attenting grabbing" posts is relevant. That's at least what I understood the post to be. Sure, it could've been better written and clarified that not all of us are "attention mongering marketers with interchangeable headlines," oh well. I'm not congratulating this article for condemning all of us, but I do believe there are some out there that sphinn for the sake of notoriety. Next time I'll write the damn critique myself and have the lines more clearly defined.
And maybe it is wrong of me to take this seriously, perhaps it's more important to just sphinn self-congratulatory posts people make about their "gone hot" sphinns, stuff that SteveMichael tells me to sphinn in my inbox or people's personal/corporate changes that don't have a lick to do with Search.
Very important tips to remember. Speaking of the RSS feed, I always suggest subscribing to your own feed in a couple of different readers to ensure readability.

Hell I'll make it easier for ya Yahoo! just give us number 1 on the list. Seriously. Do that by the end of Q1 and I think we'd all be willing to ignore a few of your shortcomings for another 6 months.
Although it is nice for our industry to have a level of anonymity, I agree it can be frustrating when in small talk I have been jokingly referred to as a spammer :D
I heard somewhere that SEOHack (the author) is actually a robot that was designed in a lab in Indiana (the same one that made Rex Grossman); but they trained him to hate at a 9th grade level instead of cleaning houses or playing chess.
Nice find.
It is nice to see some PPC tips once in awhile. As someone who does PPC, SEO and works with shopping engines, it's always good to have some quick tip sheets for beginners and clients.
Wasn't there a study done recently that showed StumbleUpon users to be drastically younger than Digg et al?
always with the sarcasm...when oh when will you take search seriously and start petty wars on other SEOs like everyone else
Thanks SEOHack. Glad to see someone else hates dealing with small search engines.
