Will the accurate figure please stand up? I'm looking at the chart provided by Search Engine Land that shows Google's US market share at 71.5% (according to Compete) for the month of May. Now in this article for June it states that Google's US market share (according to comScore) was 61.8%, that's quite a difference. I understand that different analytics companies' figures are going to vary, but this is a bit much. So which company historically provides more accurate data; Compete? comScore? Anyone? Bueller?
Interesting post, and completely agree. Kids these days should be going outside to play with their friends, and not exactly making new "friends" online. (Hello, Dateline NBC's To Catch a Predator).
Like most things in life, if things are kept in moderation (i.e. going online) in a supervised parental environment, then going online for research for homework, communicating with their "real life" friends through IM, then that's completely fine.
IMO, the internet should not be a substitute of their human interactivity of other children.
Great post here! This is practically the foundational blueprints for anyone who has not yet assembled a strategy for LoMo. Thanx flyingrose.
As long as the tournament can be played in Montenegro. Then I'll order a Vodka Martini: "Three measures of Gordon's; one of vodka; half a measure of Kina Lillet. Shake it over ice, and add a thin slice of lemon peel."
(Finally, my chance to be Bond....James Bond)
It's funny when you think of the stereotype when adults are always asking their kids how to operate anything technical or figure something out with the computer (like turning it on). It's always second nature for the kids...luckily I was one of those kids playing with the Apple IIC and the Commodore 64 in elementary school.
I think this interview reenforces the fact that some things never change. Great interview.
I agree...definitely NOT The Net. (Sandra Bullock, what were you thinking? )
Wow. If Brian's success continues to move in the same direction, looks like things can get heated with Google. Great article.
Great post! ( Next time I make the pilgrimmage to Mountain View, I'll have to make my way to the Wooden Horse.)
Nicely done Lyndon. (So it's true that I won't turn to stone if I don't click on your avatar?)
Woodrow Wilson once said "I not only use all the brains that I have, but all that I can borrow."
I think we can all relate to that quote. I couldn't have said it any better myself Shana. Cheers!
"Think Global, Act Local" should be a T-Shirt by now. Great article. Thanx!
Good point. From an execution point of view, it certainly is easier to drive traffic to content pages/target pages rather than jumping through the hoops as to figure out how to convert users since this would cover a wide range as far as the types of users that are coming to the site.
(Big kudos for knowing my avatar! Did you hear that WarnerBros. is going to do the Robotech movie? I'm psyched)
Sweet. I was hoping others would be able to check it out. Thanx VF.
I'm all good with Facebook, Myspace, but for some reason, for LinkedIn it just seems...I don't know, likes it's kind of being used for the wrong reason, (maybe). Maybe latter I'll be fine with it, who knows. Maybe I'm just cranky this morning.
...now we're getting somewhere. What do you mean by "manipulation" KnightCrawler? (Don't worry, I won't turn this into a political debate which isn't my cup of tea, I just wanted clarification from your comment.)
:-)
I knew there was a reason why this didn't settle with me. Great point KC.
That's a good point. I like to think that there's some SEO "health" benefit when it comes to footers to at least keep top navigation links within this area. Your thoughts?
Story: HTML Entities and SEO
That's a good point stugots. The benefit that these entities could be good for SEO is more of an added bonus rather than the actual purpose of them for validating XHTML like you said.
