I probably wouldn't carelessly swear like I do in generaly conversation but if it added to the impact of the article then I see no reason why not.
Depends what you want from your blog and how much you're willing to invest in it. If you happy with a blog that not many people read but will probably still get some traffic some PR etc just blog away (at least a couple of times a week) and read and comment on loads of other blogs. You'll get noticed a bit but nothing special will happen.
If you want your blog to be more successful you either have to be the first to cover a story or write remarkable, interesting and helpful articles. You'll also need to promote your content and your brand. Think: politely contacting other bloggers in your niche (both big and small) and trying to build relationships with them. Perhaps some linkbuilding if your bothered about PR. Guest blogging if you can (gret way to gain exposure).
You don't neccesarly have to write a lot to be successful but it is best if you can try and be consistant (I'm not very good at that). Also keep pushing out pillar articles/killer content and linkbaity stuff to try and gain some traction on the social media sites.
EDIT: Also with regard to your blog its self, I'll give you a few points (obviously just my opinion).
- I think you should get your own domain and move off blogger if you can.
- The blog was really slow to load because of some widget, I probably would have just left.
- I think the templates too clutered and should be simplified (there's too much going on in yourside bars)
- I don't like your top banner either. Maybe try and get a cheap logo/banner from a forum or something - I've never tried that though so I can't really comment.
- Highlight your RSS feed (above the fold - it's the most important action a reader could take) and top articles in the template as well
I don't see that that is the end of the world. Depends why they bought the link though. If they bought it for traffic then sure go for it, however if they bought it purely for SEO benefits then yeh it's a bit shady.
'Tesco home insurance' probably would have been less dodgy!

I guess what he is trying to say is 'content' is dead but user generated content 'community' is alive?
I don't really find these endless lists of extensions that helpful to be honest..
They're probably only useful for people unaware of the power of addons.
That's interesting, I'd love to get into domaining but I don't have enough knowledge on the subject, or enough cash to invest.
I once bought a domain that had expired, and had about 1000 backlinks, and to be honest I was thinking about it from an SEO perspective.
Turns out the links send almost 0 traffic anyway (still only cost a couple of quid).
I would love to see a more in depth article including technical information, profits etc but maybe one will come soon.
I'm still waiting for the day I hit big on a social news site!

Interesting article. I would sure like to be no1 for my name, however it is rather generic..
