I'd like to know how Google determines who is selling links, for sites that don't explicitly solicit them. I know for a fact several sites that were penalized that do not sell links. Besides, doesn't Google make billions of dollars a year selling links? They've still got a pretty healthy page rank :). If a site is of good quality, they shouldn't be penalized for trying to make a living. Just ignore the paid links and judge the site based on quality. It would also keep innocent people from taking a hit.
