Yikes! Good advice, guess at times we have to take it to heart and step away from our little online world and take a deep breath of reality.
Some conversations definitely are left off the internet!
Good points Brian. I think this and almost anything new that you are looking to create a new routine with can be daunting. It's like starting a workout program when you haven't been to the gym in years. You can wait for the perfect time and soon other distractions always come up keeping you from starting or on the other extreme go in full force and end up with sore aching muscles and never return while you “rest.”
The best way is to just pick a small manageable portion, set some goals and do this consistently and do it well. Once you have a good routine down, places and sites you will focus, setting aside a set time every day to do this and finally sticking to it regularly, you can add more to the mix expanding your scope. Hopefully by this time you have seen some positive results and your persistence is showing rewards to your colleagues and management, helping to recruit more evangelists making the job much easier. If everyone had a set of forums, memes or sites they focus on, it becomes a group effort and shortly becomes second nature...
Thoughts???
