Story: PageRank Finaly Updated!
I'll say exactly as I've answered Mike B. on my blog. PageRank is important if you run paid directories, sell websites or sell links on your website/blog, I don't do that so it has no relevance for me but it's still nice to see your blog rank somewhere because it makes you feel you're improving and doing a good job as a webmaster/blogger (considering you don't buy links).
That's it from my side but the fact it PageRank is a brand and judging by the comments of webmasters and bloggers PageRank has HUGE relevance. Some care and other's don't but the fact it most of them DO otherwise it would be no PR mania.
Haha, I apologize if I hurt your feelings. I know women work in IT too but it's just easier to address as only "men" and not "men/women" :).

It's OK Halfdeck. Your comment like that was unneccessary but I appreciate it. It would be OK if you could provide a reason. It's not that I'm begging for sphinns but I'd like to hear what's wrong with my post so I can improve my writing.
DaveDavis: I agree with you and I heard Google is very good at finding paid links and their next algorithm is going to crak them down...but then again, what's Yahoo Dir if not a paid directory? :)

There's like 1/10 relation between TBPR haters and lovers, as least that's how I see it on DP. Whenever there's a new thread talking about stupidity of PageRank there are ten threads asking when the TBPR update is going to occur :).
That's another truth Brian, I agree with you. Tweaking the tricks in the ebook a little bit could do what you said.
No, I ment a PR6 website would probably increase to PR7 after a year but those 100 PR0s would probably increase to PR2 and some to PR4 within a year and I think it's better to have 100 PR2-4 backlinks than one PR6 or PR7, what if Google bans the site or whatever? You'll loose your only PR supporter but if Google bans one of those PR2s you still have 99 left. That way my point.
Matt, I'd usualy go with quality over quantity but in this case I'd rather take those 100 PR0s.
What do you mean by your last sentence? How you normaly go from PR6 tp PR7?
