I don't see it happening. There are too many people who profit from coming in and achieving results that others can't do because they don't know how. If we DO agree to set standards, they will likely be basic 101 standards only, with plenty of room for individual experience and expertise to come into play above and beyond that.
Regardless, someone will always have a technique or two that isn't publicized to help them separate from the pack. Feel free to disagree with me on this. One way or another, I see it having more downside than upside.

Excellent reminder... the only thing I would add to it is the importance of revisiting that data and updating it to get a historical sense of your progress versus specific competitors.

Inconsistency doesn't hurt your reputation as much as it affects your readership. A blogger isn't suddenly unprofessional because they don't post every day.
That said, it is DEFINITELY a smart move to post regularly on a schedule because readers are people and people are creatures of habit. They like knowing what they can count on.
