The Internet: An arena for the untalented to vent their braindead envy and hate. Guess it's really nothing personal and should be taken in that spirit - troll is as troll does, period. So don't let it spoil your holidays, heh.
Yep - and if your competitors should think YOU are cheating, guess what they'll do to retaliate? "Who lives by denunciation, dies by denunciation." As well he should. No sphinn vote from me, m8. Get a life.
All the unacceptable ad hominem (ok: ad feminam) pseudo-arguments aside, un-contextualized as they are, even if we accept that Jill may have seemingly "contradicted herself" in the course of all the years she's been in business (and I'm not saying here that she had) - ah, so what?
Don't the search engines do it all the time? Isn't "it ain't rocket science" one of the SEOs' favorite and most prevailing statements? Don't we all know that what may work out like a beaut within one particular context may fail utterly in another?
If you're hunting for 100% consistency, build your own alternate universe because you won't find it anywhere in the real world. Nor is it in any way desirable: in physics, it would equate to entropy, which is tantamount to the death of the universe - certainly nothing you would want to experience first hand.
Story: The SEO Bell Curve
A great piece with lots of valuable insights. And a good read, too. Thanks for sharing.
Aw, Netscrape's full of votebots now anyway, albeit most of them are keeping a low profile going for just a vote or two.
From an algorithmic point of view, starting afresh is probably the best thing that can happen to your links, I suppose.
Wonder what they paid for that domain name, though?
Hm, not too much sphinnlove for that kind of topic, eh?
What a shame. If I had two votes, I'd give you an extra one for style and chuzpah. (Publishing this on Blogger, too - the cheek! LOL)
AFAIK Godaddy doesn't lease that data to anyone - haven't looked it up in their TOS but they're quite clear about it in describing their domains by proxy function, as I recall.
Of course you're right - if they did, this part of the equation wouldn't cut the mustard. But of course the article doesn't claim that this is their only reason for possibly buying GD - that's actually covered in the other resources pointed out.
I'd disagree that this is merely a "black hat" issue, however: Basically, it would impact just about anyone registering domains at GD and their subsidiaries. Personally, I'd feel damn uncomfortable seeing my data wander off straight into the Plex.
