Well... I hope SourceTool.com provides us with some actual details around their complaint. The #1 issue I have with these types of complaints (whether I read about them or hear them in person) is that they always lack detail.
And when I hear people say things like "Google found it a competitive threat" referring to their site, it literally makes me want to bake them a cake, hand it to them and say: "Congratulations... you're retarded."
Such lack of detail and mere paranoid conjecture as to why you might have been penalized is parallel to pointing to a crowd and incessantly saying “he did it.” And if SourceTool.com is defending the “quality” of pages like: http://search.sourcetool.com/search?q=cache:PbdMyvVmNAwJ:64.52.254.233/Profiles_1/azE9LTUsMTAwMDA2NzM3Mg&output=xml_no_dtd&ie=UTF-8&client=default_frontend&proxystylesheet=default_frontend&oe=ISO-8859-1 then let me start baking that cake now.
Apologies (seriously) for slight lack of being repectful...
I have less of an issue when this is happening right off a SERP click but I have major issues if Google is capturing users mid-stream. Is Google planning to take these people (and revenue)? Serious intrusion, imo.
Of course, at the end of the day, everyone *should* have a custom error doc.
