Thank you very much for your encouragement and great comments! I really appreciate your input about this issue. To be honest, this issue has been on my mind for a while and it actually didn't take me long to type as it all just came like a flow of thoughts. It felt good enough to get it out there, but I actually want to do something about it so I invite you to give me your suggestions on how we can improve small business owners' understanding of what type of time and money commitment internet marketing requires, and the return on investment it can provide.

You're right, small business owners are the busiest people and they often don't have time to act as the marketing department while doing all of their other tasks. However, I think the "SEO Happy Meal" is like this mirage or quick-fix pill that fraudulent companies have come up with, and in order to combat it, legitimate and trustworthy internet marketers need to develop campaigns for small businesses that they can take step by step and have some measure of success over time. We need people to start thinking that shopping around for an internet marketing firm is like shopping around for the doctor who's going to do surgery on you and give you treatment while you're getting stronger. The most expensive doctor might not be the best, but the cheapest doctor will probably not be trustworthy or experienced either. This reminds me of Dr. Nick from the Simpsons, haha.. Frankly there are too many "Dr. Nicks" in the SEO field.

I agree Natasha. The same happens with Digg. Stories about Digg on Digg are kind of annoying to me. I think they should be filtered out and put into a section called "What's New at Sphinn"

In Punjabi, there is a hard p which sounds like the p in "Papa", and a hard "f" which soulds like the f in "Father"

But then we have a letter called "phapha" which is a pf sound.

So I see sphinn as "spfinn".. similar to Rebecca's take on it.. without the Daffy Duck effect.

"There is no Sphoon."
