@mjwalshe not at all. the town's streets are private property. Google was trespassing. simple as that.
Yes Everett, it's true, but I had to think of my RSS readers and those who are not of the male gender, cause the word facial (given the Google Image results for the term) can have two very different meanings :p
"I could be wrong, but if I were working on behalf of these major organizations, I would be a little more than upset with this information being broadcast to those searching."
Hell yes. This is internal and confidential data that Google is spilling into the search results and exposing to searchers, competitors..etc. Major issue they need to clean up pronto.
@planetc1 Eric Lander is local too :)
This is one of the most comprehensive posts I've seen in a good while, especially for the SEJ competition, and Steven is more than welcome to contribute in the future.
Woah, this made it to the Sphinn homepage in less than 100 minutes. The world loves BOTW!
@seoataglance : what was your original title? anchor text keywords?
@ DarkMatter : LOL
Replace Ask.com's share of the search market if it loses it, sells Teoma... etc.
wow ... great TechCrunch scoop Duncan ... reported on this about a year ago

I see this expanding as more and more universities are adding Internet security as part of their ciriculum and Google is the doorway to the Internet.
Amazing that this article was originally drafted by Matt in 2005, and the tips are still highly relevant. Lesson : creativity pays off.
Ture that Ken, and there are many many ways to attract and pursue links, via the old push pull disciplines in traditional marketing and public relations :)
Steve, I only bring up paid linking via advertising networks as one consideration. It's really up to the end user to decide whether or not they want to do so, and whether or not they want to use nofollow, a java redirect or organic methods.
Don't let FUD misdirect the core of the conversation.
No seriously, I've found Twitter a great way to connect with the people behind the news in not only an industry way, but a fun and networking style approach.
Story: Ask.com Kills Search Engine
they more or less invented blended search, or were the first to have the balls to implement it
Because Michael's post was only one line and old news as Google Maps in blended results have been around for a while. Eric's post however looks deeper into the expansion of Google Maps in blended results AND links to Michael's as the hattip for getting Eric's research started. That's why. Did you read the post?
@Gab Desphinning this saying it is a link post is a very inaccurate reason to desphinn (see above comment). Totally uncalled for.
Woah, I was just cleaning out my domains and noticed this one is a gem. Better to offer it to the community of readers or a business person in its niche field than let it go to little or no use, wouldn't you think?
By offering a strong site to an interested business person, I do not see that amplifing the saga of the reputation of SEO.
On a positive note, I guess I finally jumped the shark, nice :)
Thanks for the mention Dan! We launched the SEJ Search Marketing Jobs Board on Tuesday and have had a lot of positive feedback. It's refreshing to see how many openings exist in the market :)
