I plan on using it with multiple IP's so I can work on different clients... (not to spam, I promise)... I think it's the easiest solution to have all of your passwords etc. saved.
Craig, you're right - and thanks for reminding us. However, some of the transparency did make things suck too... Remember doing the bidding game with overture? Bidding right under the comptetitor? It was fun, but knowing the exact numbers of your competition sucked...
Maybe I really am drinking the "Click Forensics Kool-Aid" to the extreme - have an external agency monitor the data.
But altogether, I don't think much will change. Either way, the market will price itself to the budget that advertisers can make search work for them.
Interesting concept :) I'm still wrapping my head around the .me domains - which have a tremendous potential. I'm not that enamored of the .seo extension, unless it's turned into a "you need to be accredited by xxx organization" to own the .seo domain. I don't think it will give the company using it additional branding value. The only value is that you could get a domain you couldn't buy otherwise.
Dan, Thanks for the great article...I would have missed this tip if you wouldn't have reposted it...
For the google and yahoo searches, I use the searchstatus plugin... right click on the query line and hit the Google and Yahoo searches... But I guess typing in y or ys is alot faster. I'll have to try it.
Uggh, they've just got themselves deeper into the door of affiliate marketing / CPA. CJ and linkshare watch out! I think this goes along with their publisher affiliate network model that they've been testing.
Out to buy some more google stock.
Wow, that's pretty great response. Will have to test with other industries (accounting and law).
Great article about keyword research for local search! Covers using demographic data (via zipskinny.com) to find keywords from other similar cities, creating a google campaign to test searches (great idea!), and then creating an expectation that the site is just going to help existing customers.
Great Post... that's pretty impressive - 173 links! Even though many of the sites are spammy / scrapers, once you have your link in there, it's free links coming... now if I knew how to write a great press release :)
a number of useful SEO and designer firefox plugins. Gotta love firefox!
I'm not sure I agree with you 100% about not "gaming the system". Every system is there to be played. Politics, business, search marketing you name it. Everyone wants to be top dog - or be the expert, listened, be able to rant, generate "engagement", whatever the metric.
The goal of sphinn is to get relevant information to the right people. As people that are involved in SMO, we all know that the more we have connections / relationships / links / authority from other people in our industry, the more we can do.
While I can't sell my search marketing services to a search marketer, I can refer an SEM client, if I only do SEO. Or he can license my software, I can learn his technique regarding Log analysis, subscribe to his feed, get a reference and so much more.
The best way to gain credibility is to get a referral from someone else. I see nothing wrong with "gaming the system", as long as the product / information you are providing actually provides value to the end user.
(If my goal was to gain more friends to game the system, I just messed myself over!)
