Great post , mind if I reference it for a Canadian Election based post I'm working on?
Great article, I don't think they are hard-ass - more like telling it how it is. You don't have to like it, but it is better than lying to yourself ;)
These guys are located in Calgary, met them at a democamp at the beginning of the year.
It would be interesting to see your conclusions Scott.

Nice post, thanks for sharing.
Note that if your tech savvy you can also make it VERY easy to upgrade your Wordpress by installing it with Subversion (SVN). When I update workpress I do it with one key command: "SVN up" and that is all.
Thanks for the sphinn, I found out a few really interesting things about knol when I was writing this article and would love to hear everyones thoughts.
I made the mistake of trying to talk about twitter where I work... Never had so many blank stares in a presentation.
Really knocked me off-kilter.

Wow, I thought it might be a good idea to do a post like this - but I never expected so much activity - awesome stuff... My twitter is so full now.

Wow, I typed out an awesome comment that was perhaps 'over the top' inappropriate...
Good article ;)
@ShaneEubanks - You sir are my hero. Couldn't have been better stated.
Make internal links absolute. I find this to be an interesting tip. I must say I've never done it (hopefully I'm not about to be shunned).
Thoughts anyone?
I love how twitter connects me to many of the people I idolize in different industries (SEO and Web Development). Its provided me the chance to actually chat with these people, where I otherwise would never have that opportunity.
Web standards yes, you can clearly define the benefits of using them (faster page load times, separating content and design).
SEO standards no, its a totally different industry - something that is constantly changing, and where the crafty and 'in the know' succeed.
In SEO if you don't put your time in, and stay abreast - you fall behind. Standards can't work within that system..
Pretty solid overview of how to optimize wordpress for SEO, def. worth the read even if you've done it lots.
