northrock
like the ajax on election.twitter.com mashup. how long before this comes to all twitter pages?
I think it would be a big waste of cash for Google to buy Digg. Digg's best days are behind it. If Google wants some sort of social news voting they can do it better themselves with users that would be more profitable.
i'll give it a sphinn for an ambitious idea but not one i can see myself endorsing.
Story: Hey Google, Eat My Shorts!
great point barry! sometimes we need to take a step back and look at the big picture of things.... you know,.... like creating our pages and content like google wasn't there. ;)
it's kinda fun but afraid it will get overwhelming. only one way to find though....here's my plurk page ;) http://www.plurk.com/user/northrock
in removing north oaks from streetview, google also removed my street in shoreview. i'm just a couple streets over. guess they don't really know their city limits. ;)
i was wondering if this might come up with north oaks and streetview. @loren has this pegged, it's all private property. driving through north oaks is basically driving through the woods with some dandy homes tucked in here and there.
by the way, google's satellite view is still there and live's bird's eye view is even better. kinda hard to keep a satellite out....
The "Master Baiter" monkier: good or bad, would you want it for yourself?
on the face of it it looks like twitter could have handled this better. but i guess i also don't have all the facts. one thing i do know is that twitter doesn't need press like this at a time like this. ugggghhh.....talk about growing pains!
supercomputing.......the stuff wow is made of..... thanks for the story!
another list where i have to click next for each item :( ....sorry i tried but couldn't make it through it.
Story: Ninety-Nine Cents
will be interesting to see how much he makes. he says it's an experiment so hopefully tells us. i can see a good number of people paying it once just to try it out and see how it works. zong looks kinda slick.
Google updated the form now asking for more info including site stats like unique visitors and page views. i was able to submit with success(updated screen shot of form subnmit succes). i wonder if i will meet their qualifications and they will let me in?
always interesting to see search covered in main stream media. thanks Melanie.
Story: Ask.com Kills Search Engine
if google ends up providing results for ask along with aol and ms/live grabs up yahoo we will be stuck with only 2 major players. in my opinion that really leaves a void where a new start-up with some charisma can make a run at the big boys. this engine will need a great product first then be able to spread naturally and virally through social means and word of mouth. should be interesting. i was hoping ask was the one but it's not to be.
Story: Ask.com Kills Search Engine
hmmm... has this story taken a sudden turn? barry can you confirm what nicholas had to say?
Story: Ask.com Kills Search Engine
if they take the primary ask.com domain and truly target women that are 30+ and live in the midwest, yes, they are in effect killing ask.com as a general search engine. at most it can only be labeled a niche search engine.
it most likely hit the 3 day mark. when it does that it's outta the what's new category and can't go hot.
i didn't think this story would get many sphinns with it's technical nature. but with it being about robots.txt, i figured sebastian might come siffing around. :)
a bit puzzled too sam. toprank didn't publish this book but i assume lee and co are honored to be included. it makes sense to make a post announcing a book one is published within plus sharing some relevant content.
as far as helping folks i've met lee a numerous times and consider him a friend. he is always very helpful and most definitely sincere. lee's online marketing blog is more than well proven and he has shown it to be a useful resource time and time again.
i know controversy is your thing sam and i enjoy a lot of your writings but i think you missed on this one.
