although u didn't intend for it...these are the type of posts that should make it to sphinn...
content that has a point and offers more value than your average "top ten things i made up to get on sphinn" post
stumbleupon is amazing, and i have stumbled on a number of those great sites as well
its obviously not SEO, but it definitely is social media which is part of the whole search marketing umbrella
I did the company search as well...first of all our site wasn't indexed...and next to all the results for our company's profile on other sites and press releases, like everyone else, was a picture of someone who I have never seen before in my life
unfortunately it wasn't someone "cuil" like a nascar driver or a farmer
I completely agree that the majority of SEO professionals aren't SEMPO members, however I used their membership information because it is likely farily proportionate to the actual numbers.
This is why i choose to represent their information as a heatmap so everyone could visualize the distributions and concentrations of SEO professionals, as opposed to focusing on the actual numbers.
im pretty sure you set a record for fastest story to reach the first page of sphinn's greatest hits
congrats
if you are in a major metro area www.hopstop.com is a great resource for figuring out how to get around. It includes walking directions, as well as public transportation directions
if google does their research im sure they will be able to match and exceed the power of hopstop, it will be interesting to see if google acquires hopstop to get a headstart on the public transportation data
its amazing how desparate his arguements read
reading his rebuttals only makes me picture a child throwing a tantrum in the supermarket because his parents wont buy him the super sugary cereal
in terms of user enjoyment...i dont think it gets any better than stumble
first you start by propping up a box with a stick
next you attach a rope to the stick
and then you put bait in the box in the form of a link
when the spammer goes for the link you pull the rope and trap him
done and done
