Tip #2 is so important. I used to just be a lurker. Now I'm finding out how rewarding it can be to actively participate and get quality feedback. Thanks for the list.
I have to admit that the thought of letting readers "rate" my content is a bit scary for me. But in the long run, it should work to make me a more effective content provider that's "in touch" with her readers. Solid tip.
I like the widget idea - as long as the widget is fun, edgy, engaging and/or sticky. Fun questionnaire widgets with titles like "Can you outsmart a Terminator?" work for me.
