Can anyone spot a single natural link given in that extremely long article with countless websites mentioned? Ohh unless you count the only link on the page (i.e. to matts blog) within the content section?
The reality is that he has spread so much FUD his killing the natural linking process as everyone is to afraid to give links.
I find that Social networking return is better measured using a Return on Relationships model rather than a return on investment model. Check out some of Rory Murrays posts, particularly

Thats what I thought at first but some of it was definetly me and I had discouted the bot stuff manually and I do rank for the terms so it looks like they have got some issue with the filter.
Thats a disgrace, just goes to show that they should spend more time on improving quality rather than diluting themselves so much that they start to allow this to happen.
Hi lyndon, I sat beside you in one of the sessions and must say that I left smx with very mixed feelings about the whole thing.
The first day was in my opinon weak, maybe because I attended the Advanced track that wasn't advanced at all and to be honest I heard a lot of people complaining about the first day and the so called advanced track. Saving grace on Day 1 for me was definetly listening too / chatting Rob Kerry and Nathan Buggia, two very knowledgeable and open guys.
The second day was much much better, and it was worth going for the side conversations, 2nd Day seesions and DaveN comments alone, the hotel and service/food were all excellent and the whole thing was well organised.
It is a real pity that the first day was not as strong as it could have been and in reality this is the fault of the person who decided to call it advanced, if danny et al are going to have an advanced track then it really should be advanced (hint, if your in the advanced track we dont need to be told that a H1 is important).
Saying all that I would definetly go again and will go again next year.
